Consortium
The SOLUTION project is powered by a multidisciplinary consortium of five leading organizations from four European countries. Our partnership bridges the gap between formal academic research and informal community engagement, bringing together experts in education, science communication, biodiversity, and social inclusion.
University of Iceland
Location: Reykjavik, Iceland
Role: Project Coordinator
The University of Iceland (UI) is the country’s leading research and higher education institution. The School of Education at UI is the principal institution for teacher training and educational research in Iceland.
- Expertise: UI brings extensive experience in STEAM education and inclusive pedagogy, specifically focusing on reaching marginalized groups due to immigrant backgrounds or low socioeconomic standing.
- Key Contribution: As the coordinator, UI oversees project and financial management while ensuring a research-based, interdisciplinary approach to sustainability education.

SciCo
Location: Chalandri, Greece
Role: WP5 Lead (Dissemination & Communication)
SciCo is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing public understanding of science through innovative, interactive methods.
- Expertise: Renowned for high-impact outreach programs and in making scientific knowledge engaging and accessible to diverse audiences.
- Key Contribution: SciCo leads the project’s communication strategy, including the development of the official website, social media presence, and the creation of visual identity and dissemination materials.

Naturalis Biodiversity Center
Location: Leiden, Netherlands
Role: WP3 Lead (Educational Materials)
Naturalis is the Dutch national research institute for biodiversity and houses one of the largest natural history collections in the world.
- Expertise: Through its "Nature around the corner" initiative, Naturalis has a proven track record of connecting families and students from low socioeconomic backgrounds to science and nature in their own neighborhoods.
- Key Contribution: Naturalis provides expertise in creating barrier-free STEM activities that foster a sense of belonging and "science positive" attitudes among underrepresented groups.

Museon-Omniversum
Location: Den Haag, Netherlands
Role: WP4 Lead (SOLUTION Labs)
Museon is an educational museum that focuses on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the relationship between humans and the world.
- Expertise: Museon has extensive experience with the "MuseumLAB" concept, which allows students to engage with local initiatives while connecting them to global challenges.
- Key Contribution: Museon supports the project by bridging formal school education with informal museum-based learning, helping students understand the real-world impact of local actions on global issues

Cap Sciences
Location: Bordeaux, France
Role: WP2 Lead (Dialogue Sessions)
Cap Sciences is a center for scientific, technical, and industrial culture that has spent 17 years developing "mini-centers" (Côté sciences) in deprived urban neighborhoods.
- Expertise: They specialize in "proximity" work, addressing social inequalities and educational failure through scientific and "maker" culture workshops tailored to teenagers in underserved areas.
- Key Contribution: Cap Sciences leads the design and implementation of the local dialogue sessions, ensuring that students' interests and local references form the foundation of the project's educational materials.
